From time to time Trinity's offerings are designated for special purposes beyond the usual general operating budget of the church. Below is an explanation of some of those offerings.

 

*Christmas Eve offering

What: The offering given on Christmas Eve is divided among several missions and organizations that Trinity supports. In 2011 the offering will be divided among the following: Anchorage Rescue Mission, Compassion International, Mary Magdalene Home, and the Trinity Deacon's Fund.

*Christmas Joy Offering

What: The Christmas Joy Offering recipients are the 6 PC(USA)-related racially ethnic schools and colleges located in the U.S., and the PC(USA)  Board of Pensions Assistance Program for retired and working clergy who need extra financial help at special times.  When: Usually collected on two Sundays in December. In 2011, the dates are December 18th and 25th.  There will be special envelopes in the pews and bulletins.

 

*One Great Hour of Sharing Offering

 

*Peacemaking Offering

What: 25% goes to Trinity, 25% goes to the Presbytery and Synod, and 50% goes to the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program. For more information about this program please go to www.pcusa.org/peacemakingoffering.

When: This offering is collected on World Communion Sunday, (the first Sunday in October), and possibly one other Sunday in October. There will be special envelopes in the pews and bulletins.

 

*Pentecost Offering

 

*PFD Tithe - Presbytery 50/50 Club

What:  When you tithe 10% of your Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend, 50% of your tithe will be used for the missions of Trinity, and 50% will be sent to the Presbytery to be invested in the Presbytery's Endowment Fund.  The Endowment helps to support the missions of the Presbytery.

When: Typically in October after the PFDs have been distributed, but can be done anytime. Write "50/50" in the memo area of your check.
