A variety of national leaders and celebrities gave their efforts to the broadcast and more than 75,000 churches responded!

 A Message From the Pastors:

Throughout Lent, we journey to the cross with Jesus. We pray with him in deserts and in gardens. We celebrate him with palms. We weep with him in his deep night of trial.  And we shout Alleluia at his triumphant resurrection!  As we walk this journey together, our prayer is that this deepest mystery and miracle of our faith will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus always. Please feel free to contact us. We count it a blessing to talk and pray with you.

Our Trinity family is lifting prayers this week for:

-Prayers for all who are dealing with unexpected loss of loved ones , medical diagnoses and those who are having surgery and diagnostic procedures.  Give them and their families peace, love and strength to support their loved ones and comfort in the knowledge that God is with them and will guide them through difficult times.
-Prayers for the people who are on the long road to recovery.  Help them to be strong and help them to heal.
-Continued prayers for our sister church in Anaktuvuk Pass.  May we have a successful visit this summer and may the Lord help the people of AKP  with their many needs.
-Prayers for those who are starting new chapters in their lives, whether it be a move, starting a new job or relationships. Help them to embrace these  new challenges with hope and enthusiasm.
-Prayers for the people of the world who have been affected by recent tragedies. Surround them with love and support.
-Prayers of gratitude and support for the first responders who put others before themselves. Protect them and keep them strong.

-Giving thanks and praise for our Musicians and our choir!

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.”    Psalm 100: 1-2

Lenten and Easter Celebrations

Welcome to Trinity please join us!

Wednesday, March 6th: 6:30pm ~ Ash Wednesday Service:

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, March 6th.  At 6:30 pm, we have the opportunity to gather in the sanctuary for a quiet service of worship with hymns, prayers, scripture and message.  We may choose to recommit ourselves to follow Jesus Christ by receiving ashes in the sign of the cross on our foreheads.  By this act, we show our commitment to let go of behaviors or thoughts that distract us from the love of God and neighbor.  We may also light candles of “intention”, signifying our intent to replace sin with acts and thoughts that serve God’s good will.  All are welcome.  Come join us to begin your Lenten journey.

Hurricane Harvey Letter & Fundraising

Dear Friend,

Over the last four days we’ve heard countless stories about lives lost and those who have been displaced and lost their homes due to Hurricane Harvey. This is one of the worst hurricanes to hit the states since Katrina.

What can you do?  Two things:

One: The following link will take you to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance update, along with information on how/where to make a financial contribution.   This is the most immediate way to help as relief agencies are asking for funds to purchase supplies.

https://www.presbyterianmission.org/story/presbyterians-mobilize-help-people-texas-recover-hurricane-harvey/

Second: With the leadership of Elder Rich Wilson, Elder for Missions here at Trinity, we are forming a team toorganize a musical fund-raising/benefit event here at Trinity.  We hope this event will feature the Anchorage Jazz Ensemble, plus choirs from Huffman Elementary and South High School.   If you wish to join Rich in coordinating efforts, here is his contact information:

(907) 952-1502

As President Trump said earlier today, this is a storm of epic proportions.  May our response to it be even more memorable.

Let us keep the people of Texas and Louisiana in our prayers.

Sincerely,

Pastor Todd Allen
